A living heritage since the 16th century
When you step through the doors of Hôtel d'Alibert, you enter a place steeped in history. Built around 1560, this Italian Renaissance-style mansion is the work of an artist from Carrara, invited by Jean d'Alibert, abbot of Caunes. Inspired by Italian palaces, the building stands out thanks to its inner courtyard adorned with two-level arcaded galleries, sculpted busts, and a canopy well engraved with the date 1560. A remarkable testimony of its time, the residence was listed as a Historic Monument by decree on August 25, 1927.
A family home since 1912
For over a century, Hôtel d'Alibert has belonged to the Guiraud family. Acquired in 1912 by Louise and Germain Guiraud, it was first turned into a café-inn by Marceau and Germaine, then into a restaurant by Paule and Jean, before becoming a hotel thanks to their descendants. Today, Frédéric and his son Charles Guiraud carry on this family legacy by offering guests a unique experience combining heritage and hospitality.
